This should work if you have no neutral available. Hot + Hot in the US will give you the same as Hot + Neutral in Europe.

  • Thanks Michael, I have two other questions.
  • 1) what guage wire do you recommend for the PID s
  • to the XLR connectors. Is 22 ga to small?
  • 2) Did you connect 2 10ga wires  from the HLT SSR to the  Main contactor the other to the Boil SSR ?

1) 22 AWG is correct for the XLR connectors.

2) I think the image will answer that...

let me know if you have more questions...

Thanks

@michael Just interested in the first step wiring to the panel switch.  I am in Australia and we have 240V with Active, Neutral and Earth.  We don't have a Hot 1 and Hot 2 which first diagram shows wiring into the switch. Should I just wire this as Active and Neutral into the switch instead?

@gattica76 it should work if you follow the diagram at the start of this conversation. 1 Hot, 1 Neutral and the ground.

I am assuming the above diagram would be used for 110v systems as well?  I am using 1650 watt elements so only 110v is needed.
